I hope you enjoyed the extended weekend. Our teachers were quite engaged with an amazing JMU professor on Friday morning. Dr. Almarode gave us some tools to engage students emotionally, cognitively and behaviorally. Our teachers then had a math workshop that sharpened skills for Monday morning and the year ahead. I know that childcare arrangements can be a bear once the school year has started back up. But I can assure you that these during the year sessions for teachers give them the tools at the right time to make an immediate positive impact.
The Roadrunner Warrior Fundraiser packets are due tomorrow – Monday, September 25th. Please make sure all the packets are back in order to contribute to the class participation prize. Money can still trickle in, but we need those packets back. Hopefully, you’ve got emails and letters out to potential supporters. Thanks for your help!
Don’t forget to join the PTA. You can do it easily online.
Tomorrow our Kindergartners go on a field trip to the apple orchard. Tuesday night is the final Steering Committee meeting about construction planning for all of our schools. Here’s the link to the latest posted presentations. This is the final meeting before a recommendation is made to the school board. You are welcome to attend. It’s at the high school in room C-143.
