Hello ostrich families! I mean penguins! No, no….ROADRUNNERS! Oh my, break 3.0 has made me completely forget our mascot! It seems the weather has made quite a mess of our return to school in 2018. The forecast is looking clear this coming week. I know we are all looking forward to getting back into a routine!
There’s not a lot going on this week. Third Grade heads to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts on Thursday. And on Thursday and Friday students are asked to bring in their Jump Rope for Heart envelopes. Ms. Hanna suggests that online donations are a great way to go for ease. You visit heart.org/jump and scroll to the bottom to search for Randolph Elementary.
I also mentioned in an email last week that the middle school production of Honk Jr. was rescheduled to be Friday, January 26th at 7 PM and Saturday, January 27th at 2 PM. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. After the Saturday matinee performance, they will be hosting a meet and greet with select cast and crew members for any elementary kids that want a behind the scenes look.
Don’t forget to send in the PTA after-school sign-up forms this week! Seats are first come, first served. You need to send payment in with the registration made out to RES PTA. Also something from the PTA – we’ve scheduled another fundraiser with Rare Olde Times for Sunday, February 4th. Yes, that is Super Bowl Sunday! And for that reason, there’s an added opportunity. If you are looking to grab some yummy catered food for hosting the event, Randolph PTA will get a percentage of that order. Look for a flyer with details or visit www.rareoldetimes.com/catering-1 and click on Big Game Menu. When you email in your order by February 1st be sure to mention you would like it connected to Randolph.
I hope everyone got outside to enjoy the sunshine today! See you bright and early.
