Even without the high winds on Friday, I would have been blown away by the enthusiastic participation in Dr. Seuss Week. Thank you for supporting your kids in all the fun dress up days. Thank you to the reading committee for coordinating events, with Ms. Borges and Mrs. Vaughan leading the charge. Thank you, staff, for embracing the costumes and fun themed lessons as well. If you jump on our RES Twitter feed you’ll catch lots of fun pictures. We’ll have many of them on display in the office and lunchroom.
This week we’ll have our final PTA after-school class on Tuesday. Fifth-grade heads to Maggie Walker and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts on Wednesday. A reminder that on Monday, March 12th there is no school for students.
Lastly, I wanted to get us all squared away for the PTA Unspaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction set for Friday, March 16th. You should have received another flyer for ordering game tickets and pizza slices. Room parents and teachers should have also been in touch about donating items to the class baskets. And one final important piece – we need help staffing all the games! Our teachers helped us out tremendously, signing up for a ton of slots, but we still have over 50 slots left to fill. Visit the sign up genius link to snag a spot. You’ll see six different 30-minute time slots starting at 4:50, 5:20, 5:50, 6:20, 6:50 and 7:20. There are five different games, face painting, cafeteria help, and parking. We’ve suggested a grade level family sign up for a particular game. But it’s no problem to sign up for a different grade level spot. Thank you for agreeing to help!
