Oh what a night! Friday’s Unspaghetti dinner was an incredible event. It was packed with happy painted faces all around the building. Thank you Kelly Kemp, PTA president for leading the charge. Mary Williams, the Jones Family, the Toney family, Stephanie Casey, and PTA Board members (and spouses). Thank you! Much appreciation for our staff, parents and volunteers, and our community of donors that made the evening such a great success. In addition to some happy kids, I believe we brought in over $11,000 that will be invested into our school. Wow!
5th Grade forms for 6th grade middle school class placement were due last week. Sadly, I just found mine buried on the dining room table. Please get them in on Monday! Contact the school if you can’t find it. 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade families – forms need to come back for family life be it a yes or a no for permission. Nurse Molly will be using the state curriculum with the girls. I will be teaching the boys this year. I know there are many other forms out there including Reading Olympics permission forms and field trip forms for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Lastly, Coach Seltzer also wanted me to remind 4th and 5th grade students about his mountain biking team informational visit. More information about the team can be found online.
Looking at the week ahead 4th grade will be MAPS testing on Wednesday and Friday. Also on Friday many students will be participating in the Goochland County Public Schools Fine Arts night that runs from 5 to 8pm at GHS. Our chorus will perform at 5:30pm and we have several pieces of our student art on display. There’s plenty to see so I hope you can drop by the big event at the high school.
