Did you know that reading out loud to dogs can improve reading skills for children?
Join us at the Paws for Books Book Fair on Thursday, April 26 for a chance to read to a dog!
Sprite’s HERO (Humane Education and Research Organization) manages the Reading Education Assistance Dog program in greater Richmond, known as “Paws to READ.” This proven canine-assisted therapy program allows children to relax with a non-judgemental listener, which helps to lower the stress that some children feel when reading aloud.
Three registered & insured therapy dogs from Sprite’s HERO will be at the RES Book Fair! Sign up here for an opportunity to build reading skills, self-confidence, and self-esteem.
