I hope that all of you had a great Thanksgiving! Our family traveled to Blacksburg for a few days where my parents live. It was nice kick off the holiday season together! I hope that you all got to enjoy some time with loved ones.
First of all – a big thank you for all the mac and cheese boxes that came in for the Christmas Mother. We sent many, many boxes filled with boxes on Mrs. Higgs’ bus. She went to all of the schools picking up the different items to support families in our local community.
Second – congratulations to our Lego Robotics Teams! A week ago they had competed in the Regional competition. The Space Tamales got 2nd place Robot game and first place for project and go onto the state competition in Harrisonburg this coming weekend. The Spacinators got first place trophy for robot design, but do not go to states. We are very proud of all of these students and coaches for their accomplishments. A big thank you to our families for supporting the teams, especially those that will make another trip this weekend.
Looking at the calendar this week: Dr. Raley will be visiting on Tuesday, serving students lunch in the cafeteria! On Wednesday we’ll have our school-wide Spelling Bee. Families with participating students should join us in the library. That afternoon we’ll have Orff and Garden clubs. Much farther in the future, please make sure that 2nd through 5th grade families has Thursday, November 20th marked down. That’s our big concert at the high school with a 6pm arrival time and a 6:30pm start time. Reminders and more information will come from Mrs. Blevins.
I have missed all of the staff and students. See you tomorrow!
