Good evening Randolph Families!
5th graders have been and will continue to meet with Mrs. Ambrose this week about the transition to middle school. Envelopes with blue Elective Course sheets are coming home with your student. Please review, make any changes, sign and send back. Papers are due Thursday, February 21st to Mrs. Ambrose who will then return to the middle school. It is important we receive these papers back on time to ensure your child’s preference on their elective class is known.
This week there is the final Variety Show Dress Rehearsal on Monday after school. This is the final practice before the Variety show that hits a week later, Thursday, February 21st. The PTA Afterschool Classes begin on Tuesday. Please pack an additional snack for your child to eat between dismissal and the start of the program. You should have received an email about the class for your child. If you have not paid, please be certain to bring that payment when you pick up your child on Tuesday at 4:30pm. You can give it to Mrs. Russell or the class teacher. On Tuesday evening some of our students will be going to the School Board meeting to honor them for School Board Appreciation Month. May I suggest that you email school board members your thanks!
A big reminder that Friday, February 15th is a make up school day for earlier snow days. And at this point, we will not have school on Monday, February 18th as planned.
Farther out on the calendar please again remember the PTA meeting and Variety Show on Thursday, February 21st. Read Across America week will be coming the week of the 25th. There will be special guest readers and a dress-up spirit day every day that week. And also consider attending a community event entitled, “Community Conversations” on Saturday, March 2nd at 10am at the Goochland Recreation Center. I’ve attached a flyer to this message. The event is held between Goochland Schools and the Goochland Minister’s Conference to discuss ways to strengthen inclusive, caring and safe learning environments.
