Let’s do the calendar first this week. A big reminder – there is no school tomorrow, Monday, February 18th. We continue the second of four PTA after school programming on Tuesday. 4:30pm pickup please. On Wednesday Fourth Grade goes to visit the Virginia Capitol. A reminder that they do not make it back in time for dismissal – so you must come and pick them up at Randolph at 5:00pm. There is Garden Club after school on Wednesday. Thursday evening is our exciting Variety Show. Come and see a bunch of talented 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders at 6:30pm. The show runs right around an hour. And then on Friday is our next Box Top collection deadline. Please be bringing them in at any point this week. Those points add up and allow our school to buy some great resources!
And now some announcements!
Congratulations to Randolph’s two Destination Imagination Teams! Team Checkmate, coached by Janelle Kauffman and Laura Patrick took first place overall in their age category. Team MINTS, coached by parents Mrs. Stratiou and Mrs. Shelton, won first place in the instant challenge and second place overall. Both teams will advance to the state competition. Thanks to Sherrill Kauffman for coordinating our DI program.
If you are a parent of a 4th or 5th grade Reading Olympian, please consider volunteering to help with the Tenth Annual Reading Olympics Tournament! It will be held at RES all day on Thursday, March 28. Mrs. Vaughan is seeking help in a variety of ways – and many of them can be done before the date of the event. If you are interested, either email her at: email@example.com click here to access the RO Tournament Sign-Up Genius. Mrs. Vaughan is also hosting an information session at 6 PM this Thursday in the Library before the Talent Show. Please join us to learn more about how to make this 10th Anniversary of Reading Olympics a success. Thank you for your support of our Reading Olympians!
Thank you for signing up to help feed our teachers on Thursday. The slots were filled quickly!
Last week I mentioned that “Community Conversations” on Saturday, March 2nd at 10am at the Goochland Recreation Center. I’ve attached a flyer to this message. Dr. Raley, our Superintendent, has now provided an RSVP signup link so they know how many people to expect.
