A reminder that there is no school on Monday or Tuesday. On Monday many of you are visiting for Parent-Teacher Conferences. As some schedules are full please do not come without an appointment. You will need to reach out to your child’s teacher to set up another time to talk.
Wednesday will be a day 1 for Encore. On Wednesday we’ll have author Steven Smith visiting with 2nd through 5th grade. First grade will travel to Goochland Cares as part of their Journey Project. Thank you for sending in all those canned goods. We can accept them through Wednesday morning! That afternoon is Garden Club. On Thursday we will enjoy Book Character Day. Participants were required to send in a slip of paper with the book title and character. For safety and kindness for little ones, we ask that masks not be worn on the face and scary costumes stay home. On Friday the 4th and 5th grade travels to see the Richmond Symphony.
A note about safe drop off and pick up. The safest way to drop off students not riding the bus in the morning is to use car line between 8 and 8:20 am. If you need to bring a child, perhaps with a project or donated goods, please walk your child all the way into the building using the crosswalk from the parking lot. If you arrive after 8:20 you must sign your child in so they can receive a pass. Morning visits to the classroom should be planned with the teacher. If you need to help carry something to the room we ask that you first sign yourself in with the office.
We’ve got another PTA Roadrunner Warrior Dash Fundraiser Update. As of right now, we’ve landed $5,000 short of our goal set from past years. Please follow up with those that you asked to donate if you think they may have forgotten due to the business of life! We’d also like you to fill out this brief survey to get feedback on the new electronic process and about the day specifically. With so many corporate sponsors, we are still recognizing them for their generosity. This week we feature LUCKSTONE, a supporter of Randolph for many years! Headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, Luck Stone is the nation’s largest family-owned and operated producer of crushed stone, sand, and gravel. A responsive and creative partner to the construction, civil engineering and environmental industries, Luck Stone provides consistent, quality aggregate materials and services that serve as the foundation of roads, bridges, and buildings. With nearly 100 years of history and a mission centered on the potential of people, Luck Stone is driven by a vision to build lasting value for customers and communities. Regarding some PTA items – we are lined up for a Chipotle spirit night for Monday, November 4th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. YOU MUST HAVE THE FLYER as a paper copy or electronically on your phone. Save this email so you have it ready to show when you visit. We still need your PTA participation through membership signup! Please join the PTA by going to this link. There are a few classes that are a student away from 100% membership. The first class there wins a pizza party!
The clinic could use some donations to help when kids need an immediate change of clothes due to a playground incident or accident. We’ve created a Sign Up Genius in case you are able to help. Some items should be new. Many other items could be lightly used hand-me-downs that you are ready to get rid of. Thank you! Once you sign up please send the items within a few weeks.
Don’t forget that we’d love for you to participate in the Strategic Plan conversations. There is one on Tuesday the 29th at the Goochland Rec Center. Then Randolph will host one on Wednesday, November 6th at 6 pm.
