Monday is a day 4 for Encore.
The Goochland High School Band will be visiting us in the morning for a grade 1 through 5 assembly. That evening is the PTA Chipotle Fundraiser from 5 pm to 9 pm. Remember that YOU MUST HAVE THE FLYER as a paper copy or electronically on your phone. Save this email to be able to click the link. Want to invite people from your social network? Click on this link for some shortcuts for sharing! On Tuesday 4th grade heads to Jamestown for a field trip. On Wednesday I’d love for you to join me from 6 to 7:30 pm in the Randolph Cafeteria for Community Strategic Planning Input Session. You’ll have a chance to sit with small groups and reflect on the past, present and future of Goochland County Public Schools. Help us craft our next five-year strategic plan for your children! On Friday the PreK through 2nd-grade classes will enjoy an assembly from Goochland’s Fire and Rescue Team. It comes as a perfect time to remind you to change your smoke detector batteries, often recommended when we change our clocks twice a year.
Here’s the latest PTA Roadrunner Warrior Dash Fundraiser Update. Thank you to the three people that took a moment to fill out this brief survey to get feedback on the new electronic process and about the day specifically. Your feedback is helpful! This week’s featured sponsor from our Roadrunner Warrior Dash event is SIGNATURE POOL SERVICES. Michael Wallmeyer is a Contract Manager for the company and his boys attend RES. Signature Pool Services is a locally-owned pool service company. Founded in 2014 with just two employees Signature Pool Services quickly grew. Five years later they now have over 20 full-time employees. They have also expanded into pool management and have over 100 seasonal employees in the Management division. Signature Pool Services works all over the state of Virginia and even into Maryland and North Carolina. They offer pool renovations, including resurfacing, tile and coping replacement, equipment replacement and repair, hardscape installation, as well as weekly maintenance. Their management side provides lifeguards and gate attendants for apartment and community pools and recreation centers. They are excited to sponsor fundraising efforts at RES for the second year in a row!
A big thank you to the many families that signed up and sent items for the clinic! Here is the Sign Up Genius link to see what is still needed. And a different clinic related announcement. As the temperatures start to drop please make sure jackets are sent in with names clearly marked inside. Our lost and found (located in the office) is busting at the seams. Please also encourage your children to wash their hands after bathroom visits and before eating snacks and lunch. We’d love to keep all of our kids (and staff) healthy!
Lastly, mark your calendar for Monday, November 11th for a Digital Information Night. All three elementary schools are coming together to address family concerns about iPad devices. It will be held at 6:30 pm at Goochland Elementary School. We’ll have a program that tries to hit the highlights and give deeper dives into the applications students use. We’ll also have some open-ended question and answer time. In the past, these have not been well attended. We are hoping to see a good Randolph turnout. If you’ve had questions about student iPad use or struggle with understanding how to support the applications they use, we’d really like you to come!
