Hello there Roadrunners!
Thank you so much for all of the support and appreciation shown for our teachers and staff last week! Despite being from a distance, I know a lot of our teachers felt very loved with the gifts, videos, and special surprises that came throughout the week! One parent was able to get shout out on K95 right around the time that a parade of cars drove past Mrs. Hadd’s house. The station acknowledged all of our Randolph team. It was a special way to connect in a time when connections are hard to come by – unless virtual of course. And I must say I can share from personal experience, when a long line of cars came through my neighborhood at 3 pm on Saturday, May 9th. That made for one amazing birthday celebration! Thank you!!
We are going into week five with learning plans. This is the last week of materials that we have shared, however, the virtual school year doesn’t end until Wednesday, June 3rd. So if you need to spread out work for finishing. And especially if you want to keep connecting with teachers, please do so!
There are several reminder announcements:
- Amy Heilmann’s art lessons are weekly on Tuesdays at 10 AM and Thursdays at 2 PM. Here is a link to the learning plans page that has her link to the Google Hangout. This link also has all of the learning plans if you are looking for quick access to the PDF version of your grade-level work. We are on Week 4 of the new content.
- Deadlines and instructions for the RES Virtual Talent show are all in this document. Submissions are due by May 17th.
- Don’t forget to order your yearbook by May 15th. Please click here to preorder your yearbook.
- Here is the message again from the Mental Health Team for Goochland County Public Schools. They are available to connect with your child and are offering social-emotional support during this time. They created information on school-based, local, and national mental health resources for families during COVID-19. You can access these resources here.
Time for birthdays! Claire, Colby, and Lilah are our Kindergarteners celebrating this week. Briseida in 2nd and Brayden in 3rd – happy birthday! Isabella and Janiyah, our 4th graders – you’ve got something cool going on today. Both of you are turning 10 on May 10th! And lastly, we’ve got four 5th graders with birthdays this week – we wish you the best Camden, Charlie, Eduardo, and Sagira.
Take care! Dan Gardner, Principal
