I’ll start with an important announcement for our 5th-grade families. A reminder that the graduation home visits are happening each day starting on Tuesday, May 26th. I hope that by now you have been in contact with your child’s teacher to confirm that you are home on the visit date. They will drop off a student belonging bag, an envelope with certificates, a nifty GMS gift, a laminated yard or mailbox sign, and your 6th grade iPad. You need to have ready your 5th grade iPad (keep the charging block and cord at home) and also return any library books. We ask that you are respectful of the safety of the staff and all of the other families they will visit that day by holding back on any hugs or handshakes. This makes us super sad, but we are trying to stay super safe!
For our other grades, a reminder to mark your calendar for Wednesday, June 3rd. On that day, from 2 PM to 7 PM we have signed up ten Randolph staff members per hour to cheer you into the summer! You will come to the gym to get your bag of student belongings, an envelope of year-end items, and to turn in library books and other items teachers may have requested back. I am attaching the staff time sign up list in case you are able to work out arriving during the hour they are there!
Please note that you do not need to bring us your learning packets, as mentioned last week. Also – 3rd and 4th graders do not need to bring their iPad devices! For now we are asking that you continue to use those tools throughout the summer. If you are leaving Randolph for another school we do need you to return the iPad, cord, charging cable, and Kajeet wifi device as soon as possible. June 3rd is a perfect time for that drop-off. If that date doesn’t work, please contact me!
Please consider checking out our virtual talent show that posted last Thursday at 6:30 PM. That was the actual date of the event. We had eight students and six teacher participants. We are so glad they shared their talent. I am also super thankful that Mrs. Blevins put it together. You can catch the show at this link!
The principal read this week is one of my favorites – The Book With No Pictures by B. J. Novak.
And now, time for birthdays! We have a slew of Kindergarten birthdays – Brady, Ezra, Maddox, Molly, Willy, and Claire (sorry about calling out yours early!) Happy Birthday! Third graders Ellie, Harper, and Logan – we wish you the best this week. Fourth-grader Harper and fifth-grader Alex – Happy Birthday to you both!
