GCPS is hosting it’s second annual Wellness Night on March 20th at 6:00 PM at Goochland High School. Wellness Night is sponsored by our Teen Mental Health Awareness Committee and is intended for parents and teenagers. The event will feature informative and interactive sessions on a variety of topics, including mental health, yoga, safe technology use, and physical fitness. There will be dinner, door prizes, and childcare (for ages 5+). See the flyer for more details.
Do you enjoy a hot cup of coffee in the morning? Do you find happiness in helping others around the world? If you answered yes to either of those questions, the 5th grade team would like to invite you to be a part of our Pouring Hope Coffee Shop.
Pouring Hope opened for business on Friday, March 8. For the next 8 weeks, our fifth graders will be brewing and selling coffee on Friday mornings from 8-8:30 AM.
**UPDATE – During the week of March 11-15, Pouring Hope will be open for business on THURSDAY morning instead of Friday. School is closed on Friday, March 15.
The coffee brewed at Pouring Hope is fair trade and made by Sudanese refugees living in Ethiopia. All profits will go to fund the 5th grade Journey project, Operation Refugee, where students will prepare care packages to send to refugee camps around the world.
