Randolph is on its own journey to brand and vertically unify staff, students, and the community. It allows us to craft a more specific impact on the culture, character, curriculum, and community of our Randolph family (still aligned with GCPS values, mission, and vision). This process and flexible product allow our team to tailor the support of our students in our current social/educational environment. It also gives a similar language when reaching out for family support.
At the end of the last school year, the staff created the Compass FORWARD Values now being used in assemblies and classrooms: Focus, Optimism, Respect, Wellness, Acceptance, Relationships, and Dedication. We opened the year talking about them and Mrs. Ambrose and I focused on respect, relationships, and acceptance when talking about being there for one another.
We also have lots of great things going on with our Journey Projects. Each year our grade levels create an interdisciplinary Project Based Learning opportunity for the students. The projects often last multiple weeks and result in deeper learning. Students explore, create, interact and often make an impact on the larger community through these projects.
