Due to last week's snow storm, our division lost five valuable instructional days. In order to gain back some of our lost instructional time, both Friday February 18 and Monday March 21 will now be instructional days for students. Schools were previously scheduled to be closed for students on these days for teacher professional work days. At this time, Monday February 21 is still scheduled to be a holiday for both teachers and students. However, should we miss another school day, February 21 will also become an instructional day.
On Thursday and Friday of last week, we asked students to read or be read to for up to an hour. We do plan to use these two hours as needed to meet our required instructional hours, pending any future weather events. We wanted to provide this notice as soon as possible to allow our staff, students, and families time to adjust their schedules as needed. As always, please feel free to reach out to Dr. Raley or your school's principal with any follow up questions or concerns.
