Game Day in Ms. Tiller’s Kindergarten class!
Our little learners had a blast building teamwork, taking turns, and learning through play. From board games to movement games, every smile said it all—learning really is fun!

We’re incredibly proud of our 5th grade students who continue to exemplify our core school's FORWARD values—Focus, Originality, Respect, Wellness, Acceptance, Relationships, and Dedication—both in and out of the classroom. Whether it’s helping a classmate, leading by example, or going the extra mile on a project, these moments of character define our school community.
Keep shining and showing what it means to live our values every day! #SchoolPride #StudentSuccess #ValuesInAction #FORWARD

Our sweet fifth graders are spreading their wings!
As the school year comes to a close, we’re filled with pride (and a few happy tears) watching these incredible students take their next big step to middle school.
From curious learners to confident leaders, you’ve grown so much—and we can’t wait to see what amazing things you’ll do next.
Once a part of our school family, always a part of our hearts.
Congratulations, Class of 2025! You’ve got this!

Shoutout to our amazing 5th grade Safety Patrols! Your dedication, leadership, and commitment to helping our students does not go unnoticed. You make a big difference every day. Thank you for stepping up and leading with heart!

Ms. Austin's kindergarteners were happy campers last week! They were learning under “tent canopies” and exploring the world around them—one adventure at a time!

We had some very special visitors last week—our local fire department! Kindergarten students were thrilled to meet real-life heroes, explore the fire truck, and learn all about fire safety. Thank you to our firefighters for sparking curiosity and smiles! #FireSafetyFun #CommunityHelpers #KindergartenHeroes #ThankYouFirefighters

Ms. Dinger's 2nd graders showed spirit and teamwork during House Day this year! From cooperative games to team challenges, they encouraged each other, celebrated every win, and learned the power of working together. #HouseDay #TeamworkInAction #TogetherWeShine

S’more fun than you can imagine! Our kindergarten adventurers “camped out” with Ms. Alvis last week — complete with nature walks, bug hunts (the friendly kind), and a whole lot of giggles. The spirit of adventure was wild!

Library books left at home are starting to panic. They know school is ending, and they fear… summer under the bed.
Do the right thing—save a book from dust bunnies and return it to the library this week!
Your librarian (and the books) thank you.

We’re so proud of our amazing "Seniors" who have helped to cultivate something truly special with our Garden Club. From planting seeds to harvesting smiles, your dedication, teamwork, and green thumbs have helped our garden grow—and so have you!
Wishing you sunshine and success as you bloom into middle school. Keep growing strong!🌿

The younger students were GLOWing with excitement this afternoon as they cheered on our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who begin taking their SOL tests this week. We're proud of our Roadrunners for working so hard all year long. It's time to show what they know! #SOLglowwalk

Students who participated in the Go Nuts for Reading program earned free tickets to the Richmond Flying Squirrels baseball game on April 30th. Our Roadrunners had a fantastic time celebrating reading and baseball!

The RES faculty and staff are grateful to the Wean family for providing a delicious lunch for us today. We thoroughly enjoyed the Timber Pizza, salads, and Nothing Bundt Cakes. What a special treat! Thank you for your generosity!

🌾🐄 GCPS 4th graders had a blast at Ag Day!
What started as Erin Henley’s senior project in 2008 has grown into a beloved tradition, connecting students to the heart of our agricultural community. From farm equipment and baby calves 🐮 to bees 🐝, goats 🐐, chickens 🐓, and homemade ice cream 🍦—our kids learned firsthand how agriculture touches every part of our lives.
Huge thanks to our local farmers, FFA & 4H members, Virginia Cooperative Extension, Manakin Soil, and so many others who made this day hands-on, educational, and unforgettable! 💚🌱
