Roadrunners celebrated the last day of school with a "Happy HOWLidays" House Day! Volunteers from Goochland Pet Lovers helped to run the stations. Students wrote letters to help pets get adopted, made toys for dogs and cats, ran relay races, and worked together on a team-building activity. We also got an opportunity to meet the authors of The Shelter Gang and Their Secret Adventure, Richard and Kathy Verlander! Thanks to the RES Heart Committee for helping to plan this special HOWLiday for us!
Happy Holidays from our school family to yours!
Congratulations to our MP2 Champions, the SKY RUNNERS! #weRrandolph
Congratulations to the Randolph Teacher of the Year, MS. LAWSON! This incredibly kindhearted and dedicated third grade teacher has been a central part of our school for many years. Ms. Lawson's passion for teaching and learning is evident every single day. We are thrilled that she is being recognized for her hard work and optimism.
Mr. Powers wanted everyone to know how much he appreciated the trees loaned to Randolph. They were the perfect backdrop for the Chorus performance and the 2nd grade winter program. If you loaned one to us, please stop by RES to pick it up as soon as possible. Thank you again!

Happy Holiday,
Melissa Reams, Principal
Thank you to Mrs. Horn, Mrs. Barefoot-Reid, Mr. Newman, and Mr. Wright (not pictured), for your invaluable collaboration on the GCPS School Board. Special thanks to Leah, our student board rep, for her valuable contributions and student voice. Grateful for your support!
The theme for the MP2 House Day is "Happy HOWLidays - Caring for Animals in our Community." We need your help! If you have any old t-shirts at home, please send them to school. We will be using these on House Day to create dog toys to donate to the Goochland Pet Lovers organization. Students can bring the freshly washed shirts in to school and place in boxes underneath their House Boards by the school library.
We still need help to fill all of our Angel Tree wishes! Please stop by the RES front office to select tags that represent 50 Randolph students and their siblings. You are welcome to take as many tags as you wish! Please return all items no later than Friday, December 15th. There is no need to wrap the gifts. Thanks for your help supporting our students and their families.
Randolph's Holiday Spirit Week is almost here!
Monday, December 18 - HOLIDAY BONANZA (wear tacky sweaters & festive holiday attire)
Tuesday, December 19 - LONG WINTER'S NAP (wear pajamas)
Wednesday, December 20 - "SNOW" DAY (wear white or something cozy)
Thursday, December 21 - DECK THE HOUSE (wear House shirts / colors & fun holiday accessories)
Friday, December 22 - SCHOOL CLOSED - WINTER BREAK BEGINS!
We're so excited to announce that Lincoln Peirce, the Big Nate cartoonist and author, is coming to Randolph on January 11th! He will be speaking with students in grades 3-5 about reading, writing, and illustrating.
Students have the opportunity to order an autographed and personalized copy of his illustrated novel, Max and the Midknights (which will also be on the Reading Olympics book list for the 2024-2025 school year!). Mr. Peirce's Big Nate books are also available to be purchased - just search the bbgb website and add them to your cart.

Dear Roadrunner community,
Bring Comfort and Joy to a child in our community! Please stop by the RES front office to visit our Angel Tree. We have 150 angel tags that represent 50 students and their siblings.
Each Angel has multiple tags to make it less costly for each person who participates. For example, one tag will have a toy item, another will list a shirt or pants, and another a jacket. You are welcome to take as many tags as you wish!
WHEN DO I RETURN THE ANGEL TREE DONATIONS?
Please return all items no later than Friday, December 15th.
DO I WRAP THE GIFTS?
No thank you. We have wrapping paper to provide to Angel Tree families. Please return the tag or at least have a note with the number attached so that we know which child the items belong to.
Thanks for your help supporting our students and their families.
