Today was an exciting day at Randolph Elementary—our students were officially sorted into their Houses! Each student is now a proud member of the Blaze Runners 🔥, Sky Runners ⛅️, Trail Runners 🌲, or Wave Runners 🌊. Together, these Houses will build teamwork, school spirit, and leadership all year long. TOMORROW is House Sorting Day! We will be revealing which Houses all of our NEW Roadrunners will join. Will they be Wave Runners? Blaze Runners? Trail Runners? Sky Runners? Only time will tell. We're excited to welcome all of our new members to our teams!

The hallways are buzzing again! What a thrilling start to the day! Kindergarten and preschool students just walked through the doors for their very first day of school. 🌟 Our youngest Roadrunners are meeting teachers and new friends - and exploring classrooms full of possibilities. Today is the start of a wonderful learning journey. 💛💚 We’re so excited to get to know our youngest learners and can’t wait to see all the amazing things they’ll do this year!

✅ First day for Preschool, Kindergarten, 6th grade, and 9th grade students ONLY

📅 Tuesday, August 19
✅ All students attend school

Children from birth to age five can receive a free, high-quality book every month — no income requirements, no strings attached.

Introducing Ms. Smith! She has a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Ms. Smith is newly married this year! She and her husband live in Goochland County with their two dogs, Blue and Noah. She loves art, gardening, cooking, board games, and movies. She has also been known to kick around a soccer ball from time to time. Ms. Smith is looking forward to working with everyone this year!

Introducing Ms. Kowalski! This is the start of her 7th year in education!
She has three children in Goochland Schools - August is a senior, Isaac is a sophomore, and Paisley is a 5th grader. She and her husband, Andrew, have been married for 19 years. They live on a farm in Goochland where they raise chickens, ducks, pigs, veggies, and flowers:) Ms. Kowalski was the permanent sub at Goochland Elementary for 2 years. She also worked at Make-A-Wish prior to joining Randolph.

Introducing Ms. Flagg! She is entering her 12th year in education, after spending 9 years in elementary and the past 2 years at GMS. She is thrilled to be joining the Roadrunner family! Her son, Jack, will be starting Kindergarten at Randolph this year, and her daughter, Kendall will follow right behind him next year. Helping students with reading is truly her passion, and she is currently back in school working toward her reading specialist certification. Ms. Flagg is eager to bring what she has been learning into the classroom and continue to grow alongside her students and colleagues. Outside of school, she loves soaking up time at the beach, growing her own flowers, and enjoying the outdoors as much as she can!

Let’s give a huge shoutout to THREE of our very own Randolph Elementary Roadrunners who are competing in the DYB World Series! We are SO proud of these talented student-athletes for representing our community on such a big stage. Let’s cheer them on as they swing for the fences!

🎉🏃‍♂️ FIELD DAY FUN! 🏃‍♀️🎉 This afternoon was full of laughter and lots of high-fives as our younger elementary students took on Field Day!
